Hallow...what?

After putting on little Manning's costume I realized it is one of the funnest times of the year. And to have a cute little guy to share it wish was just amazing. I immediately sent my mom some pictures of his awesome costume and she said, "You always loved Halloween!". I thought about what she said and wondered if people used to be turned off by my excitement of this so called "devilish" holiday. Today I'm reminded of such wonderful memories of my Trick or Treating days. I remember going to houses that I'd never been to before and seeing elderly people's faces just light up from seeing a young one at their steps. I remember my mom and dad rushing us to all the stops we had to make. Especially to Aunt Janice's. She made us all homemade Popcorn Balls. Delicious! I also remember having conversations with people that seemed to enjoy the fact that we took time out to stop by. Now, I know there are speculations about Halloween and yes, maybe it started from something contradicting to Christianity. But, last night after walking around our neighborhood I discoverd a few things. This holiday is a great opportunity for us as believers to talk to people we normally would not talk to. Considering we're fairly new in Springfield, John and I met more people last night than we have in a whole year. Not to mention they also lit up seeing cute snuggly Winnie the Pooh!
Then, leaving the light ON, we were able to give some candy away. Once again, another way to meet people. So, I'm not sure the point of this post other than I still love Halloween. Not for what it might have been, but for what we could use it for. To Share the Love of Jesus!

Sounds like you had a good halloween. I've always liked it too. Perhaps I'll like it even better next year when I have my own baby to dress up in a way cute costume! Manning makes one cute pooh bear! Very snuggly!!
